4 Reasons Filtered Water Aids Better Health!

We often get asked: ‘is filtered water better for me?’ The most simple and honest answer is: YES!

Filtered water can help prevent some nasty diseases, makes you feel better by boosting your performance, can make you look better with very little effort and is more cost effective than bottled water.

Protects the body from disease
According to the Harvard School of Public Health: “Drinking enough water each day is crucial for many reasons: to regulate body temperature, keep joints lubricated, prevent infections, deliver nutrients to cells, and keep organs functioning properly. Being well-hydrated also improves sleep quality, cognition, and mood”

A good quality, whole of house water filter/benchtop/undersink will remove the worst contaminants from your source water (tap, tank or bore) without removing the naturally occurring minerals, which are critical for optimal health.

Water helps to boost physical performance
“The rule of thumb is: if you’re thirsty, you’re already dehydrated. Keep well hydrated by drinking plenty of filtered water, even before you begin your outdoor activity,” said Dr. Irvin Sulapas, a primary care sports medicine physician and assistant professor of family and community medicine at Baylor.

As a Queensland based company, a large portion of the Australian population are dealing with the heat – some by choice and some because they have to. Whatever the reason, staying hydrated is the key to dealing with hotter temperatures and maintaining your bodies overall wellness.

“The whole body is essentially trying to conserve water despite you sweating it out,” he said. “The body can tolerate 1 to 2 percent of water loss but anything more than that will present problems. This will decrease your work or athletic performance.”

Water is one of the easiest ways to look better
There are many physical appearance benefits to filtered water. Not only does it help you feel better on the inside, it also helps you look better on the outside! Some of the aesthetic benefits of filtered water include shinier and softer hair, a reduction in skin problems and healthier nails. (We will deep dive into this in the coming months).

Cost
Having filtered water come directly from the tap is much cheaper over time than buying bottle after bottle of filtered or ‘spring’ water, where you’re paying for the plastic as well as the water inside. How long the water has been inside the bottle, the temperature it has been stored and transported at and the type of plastic will also add to the quality of the bottled water as it may contain BPA’s. (BPA is an industrial chemical that has been used to make certain plastics and resins since the 1960s. BPA is found in polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. Polycarbonate plastics are often used in containers that store food and beverages, such as water bottles.)

Drinking filtered water is a fantastic health solution for every home. If you want quality water free from contaminants, odours, and to keep your family (furry ones included!) safe, water filtration systems are a brilliant way to look good, feel even better and prevent illness.
